Winter Registration Deadline
The Intensive program (6 levels) is primarily designed to prepare students to enter English language universities or colleges and to offer language training to professionals or business people who require a high level of competency in English.
Individuals looking for English for travel, social or other personal reasons will also find this a stimulating and engaging program. In this integrated-skills program, students will practice and develop skills by participating in a variety of learning activities including discussions, oral presentations and debates as well as audio and video listening activities. Students will also learn strategies for reading academic and non-academic texts, and for writing compositions, reports and essays.
Classes at 6 different levels, from elementary to advanced
212 hours per week of English instruction
Eight-week sessions offered in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer
Each program has its own shedule
Students must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to enrol in our program
Tuition fees include testing, placement, and a student course book
placement testing takes place one week prior to the start date of your course
In addition to tuition you can expect to pay $100 for texbooks, dictionaries and supplies

Elementary 1 : Get skilled up !
You have a studend with no, or limited previous knowledge of English, and you strive to improve, this is a course for you. The emphasis is on communication skills in day-to-day situations. You'll work on your listening and speaking skills as you billd your confidence. You'll also focus on reading and writing, grammar and pronunciation. Most important of all, you'll interact with classmates in conversations and activities designed to bring learning to life.
Elementary 2 : Tenses take over !
Step by step ... of becoming competent in English. As you're moving through the program's skills, you'll hone your ability to speak about everyday situations and many other topics of current interest. An emphasis is put on the development of English proficiency and exposure to Canadian Culture through meaningful communication, reading of simple books to help you build your vocabulary in preparation for living outside the classroom and moving on.
Intermediate 1 : Let's go to movie together !
Now that you understand most of English texts and you feel comfortable communicating both in and ouside the classroom, you are ready to go further. This course aims to help you develop your speaking skills in group discussions on topics of general interest and current events. It's then time to incorporate the use of current media content and the news as the stimulus for short writing projects. This will sharpen your abilities and make you confident.
Intermediate 2 : Time to go global !
You've gone far till now. But this course is your first major step towards competencies either in your academic or professional life. Have you ever heard about TED talks, or conducted a survey or discussions ? Have you made presentations on crutial topics ? This will be you chance to enhance your conversation skills and on writing projects too. You'll sharpen your abilities and fell you confident.
Advanced 1 : Any opinions to express ?
You've gone so far. You gained strong foundation in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Your confidence is shown up on challenging topics and material. Now, you have what it takes to go farther. Not time to give up ! This course focuses on lively debates and presentations. The art of persuation through individual and panel descussion is now all yours. Now you are at one last step from your preparation for your last course and your certificate of competency.
Advance 2 : Podium is all yours !
As a proficient English student, this course take you to reading of contemporary Canadian novel and work on a related in depth project. You'll conduct library research, write a research paper and make a formal presentation before your classmates. Teacher will help you develop your critical thinking skills as you gain confidence and independance in your academic ability. Time to celebrate your achivements. Congratulations !
Learning support is also provided through after-school study programs in our Computer Labs and Study Hall, where students can work on their assignments, get extra individualized help with one of our instructors or work in study groups.
Social activities and field trips are organized each session for students to enjoy the culture and four seasons of Canada.
We support and help international students from registration to graduation. We offer guidance with financial questions, academic transcripts and any other questions you may have. As a Quadrilium College student, you will also have access to a wide range of student services to help you make the most of your time!
* Attention International Students who wish to enrol in the Intensive English Language Program: Students applying from outside Canada are advised to begin the application process at least three months in advance, as requirements for obtaining a visa may vary from country to country. Under certain conditions, visitors to Canada may take courses for up to six (6) months without a Study Permit or CAQ.
You need to be eligible for admission
Students must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Proof of age must be presented at the time of placement testing.
Students complete a self-assessment/placement test at the time of registration and are placed in accordance with their responses.
Then, during the first few days of the course, there is a diagnostic evaluation process to ensure that students are placed in the correct level.
